This night is going to be a little different. Lillian, Rick and Jim will be joined by Karl Hartmann on bass and Dick Mathias on alto sax. Karl has played with the Project many times. Great player. Dick is a colleague from horn bands of the past and present. His alto sound can go into Paul Desmond territory. So, in addition to the usual Brazilian repertoire, we're going to play some standards. Lillian sings them like she owns them and Dick will make them quietly sparkle. As far as that alto sound, I had three autographs when I was a kid: Yogi Berra, Duke Ellington and Paul Desmond.
